I know this may not be what you want to hear, but sometimes not trying actually works better than trying! I just never got periods after I stopped BC. Well, I went to Australia for 2 weeks came home and needed to have my gallbladder out. They did a preg test in the hospital and it was negative.
A month later I went to my OB and he was gonna have me start Clomid. As it turns out, I was pregnant so I didn't need the Clomid. But, as soon as we stopped concentrating on TTC, is when it happened. My advice is to go through this round and then take a break to enjoy eachother and if it still hasn't happened, go to the fertility specialist!
Good luck to you and much baby dust! The key is not to get discouraged!! You haven't even seen a specialist yet! You or your husband could have a very small "plumbing" problem that is holding you up. More often then not when I talk to mom's who have been through the same thing you are going through now they say they gave up before it happened Good Luck and see that specialist if it doesn't happen for you! Remember that Clomid makes you even moodier, so that is probably part of your mood at the moment, in addition to the frustration of fertility issues. There is, frankly, no reason not to. Even if your periods are irregular, that doesn't mean that there might not be an issue on his side. Being able to show the doctors exactly how irregular your cycles are in chart form seems to make a HUGE difference in how seriously they take you - at least, that was the case for me. I truly believe being able to walk into the appointments armed with my charts helped a lot in getting the doctors to see that I wasn't exaggerating that things were wacky and I was either not ovulating, or not having good ovulations. Charting will also help you to get a better sense of when it may be most helpful for conception to be having sex ideally, you should do it every day or every other day in the several days leading up to ovulation , assuming you are ovulating at least some of the time with or without drugs.
Did they say anything about a lot of cysts on your ovaries when they did the ultrasound? If your testosterone is significantly higher than the normal range, that is also a potential sign. I am not sure I have or not. It is so frustrating that I spent so much time trying NOT to get pregnant, now I want it so bad and can't do it!! I didn't know that clomid makes your cycles longer; good to know. I want to take as few tests as possible as I have been disappointed so many times!

March 5 Hi Stork, sorry took so long to reply, I had day 21 progesterone tests done and levels were very low so was told I wasnt ovulating, though my doctor did suggest that maybe it was PCOS after I had concieved the twins, I know what you mean about trying for so long to avoid pregnancy, I honestly thought that it would happen straight away for me.
My twins are amazing : non id girls , Abby and Kara, they are 5 months old now. The pregnancy was tough going, I suffered with HG for the whole pregnancy, other than the sickness though it was a wonderful expierience, have to say though I genuinely didnt believe it until the very end.

I was taking clomid from day 3 but actually the month I got pregnant I was late picking up my presciption and actually started taking it day 4, also tmi but meant to say to you that clomid can "dry things up" so was using preseed as well.
